ReliantSouth has been selected as the Construction Management firm for the Trust for Public Land / Florida Department of Environmental Protection - NRDA Phase V - Florida Coastal Access Projects.  The four (4) projects will be built in Escambia, Okaloosa, Bay & Franklin County.  ReliantSouth has enjoyed working through the pre-construction process with Wood + Partners, the lead designer, and the entire project team.  Construction is well underway at the first site, Island View in Franklin County.  The remaining three (3) parks will break ground soon. 

Gulf Coast State College's Advanced Technology Center

Panama City, FL

The professionals that are now ReliantSouth while part of Team GAC along with joint venture partner H.J. High facilitated the recent construction of Gulf Coast State College’s $35mm Advanced Technology Center. Our team is proud to report that this award wining project that was designed by Florida Architects was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

Programs that will be housed in the ATC include Sustainable Building Construction, the Entrepreneur’s Institute/Development Business Lab, the Emerging Technologies Laboratory, and an Information Technology/Computer Sciences center. A key goal of the ATC is the integration of the curriculum with high schools to provide students with both career and educational pathways based on college credit and employer requirements. College and community focus groups, as well as site visitors from the National Coalition of Advanced Technology Centers, made recommendations based on assessments of current workforce and economic development operations relative to degree programs, organizational structure, funding, and the most effective use of the planned “green” and LEED silver certified ATC facility.

Emergency Operations Center

The GCSC Public Safety / Emergency Operations Center is truly an exceptional facility and was constructed by the professionals who are now ReliantSouth while working with their prior firm. It was a joint-venture project between Gulf Coast State College and Bay County. The building serves a dual purpose: as a training facility for GCSC’s students as well as the actual Emergency Operations Center for Bay County.

The building was designed by DAG Architects with the latest in structural and audio visual technology. Structurally, the exterior CMU walls, exterior doors and windows were designed to withstand 200 mph winds. The 51,000 square foot facility houses the 911 call system for Bay County as well as an Incident Command Center that will serve as a primary point of command in the event of a local emergency.

Due to the amount of technology, both structurally and audio visually, the coordination between the architect, general contractor, and owner was paramount. Our staff worked with the design team to facilitate the owner’s desires on every level, from the color of the tile on the floors to the state-of-the-art video wall in the Incident Command Center.

Additionally, our team members worked closely with Gulf Coast State College to ensure all required vendors and suppliers participated in the Direct Material Purchase Program. ReliantSouth staff facilitated the entire process to maximize the tax savings for both Bay County and GCSC.

The GCSC Public Safety / Emergency Operations Center is now in full operation and serving the citizens of Bay County.
